4 Nonsurgical Ways to Treat Aging Eyes

Dark circles, under-eye bags, and crow’s-feet are nothing to be ashamed about, but neither is wanting to do something about them. After all, the eyes are the windows to the soul, and your soul might just want to look and feel rejuvenated. The skin around the eyes is also the thinnest of the entire facial area, so there is a higher risk for damage. While lack of sleep, poor diet, and genetics can all cause tired-looking eyes, getting older, unfortunately, is another major factor. Aging of the eyelids is a multivariable problem and happens to be very common for both men and women. Changes in age, collagen content, tissue elasticity, and hydration status can lead to sagging of the eyelid tissues, wrinkles, and dark circles. All those years of blinking, smiling, and squinting (aka living life), plus solar exposure, can cause damage to our eyes.

But before you start thinking you need an eye lift, there are other, non-invasive procedures you can consider before doing anything more drastic. Defy Nature offers six of the best non-surgical treatments to brighten up and treat aging eyes to give them a more youthful appearance.

Injectable neurotoxins, such as Botox, are a great way to reduce the potential of future lines and wrinkles around the eyes (also known as crow’s feet) while improving and correcting crow’s feet and eyelid rejuvenation. Routine injections of neurotoxin every 3-4 months lead to gentle muscle relaxation around the eye area, can result in a more restful appearance to the eyelids. After the injections of Botox around the eyes,  Defy Nature recommends their patients go home with a medical-grade eye cream with powerful anti-aging growth factors like Lumiere from  Neocutis.

If lost facial volume and subsequent puffiness around the eyes are a concern, fillers are the way to go. Injectable fillers under the eye can improve the transition between the under-eye area and the cheek. Kristin prefers Restylane Silk or Juvéderm  Ultra Plus to fill the hollows to create a more youthful orbit.

A Chemical Peel is one of the most common and effective treatments for under-eye dark circles. The VIPeel Defy Nature uses contains TCA  (Trichloroacetic Acid), Tretinoic Acid 0.1%, Salicylic Acid 12%, Phenol 12%, Vitamin C, and a mineral blend that are useful in lightening hyperpigmentation under the eyes. This award-winning peel offered can be used just to resurface the skin beneath the eyes. This procedure provides the patient with a refreshed, youthful-looking appearance. With this treatment, Kristin smoothes out wrinkles and helps even out irregular skin pigmentation.

RF Micro-needling, combines radiofrequency, delivering powerful energy deep into the dermis to allow for a faster and more dramatic result to aging eyes. This revolutionary procedure uses tiny needles to puncture the skin and cause micro-wounds, stimulates collagen and elastin production, which in turn stimulates collagen production, reducing wrinkles, as well as the hooded appearance sagging lids, can cause. Defy Nature is proud to offer the Genius RF micro-needling system that provides its patients with a truly precise and customized treatment. The patients see their dramatic and long-lasting results with a quick recovery so it makes the procedure easily tolerated.  Kristin at Defy Nature loves that with the Genius micro-needling she can treat the skin of all colors and target anywhere on the body to rebuild collagen to improve the appearance of scars, laxity, texture, and wrinkles.
