It might feel counterintuitive to cut back on cleansing, but too much of this seemingly good thing can strip skin of its necessary protective oils and lead to a weakened skin barrier especially  during winter months. Wash no more than twice a day is a good rule of thumb.

When should you exfoliate?

Similar to over-cleansing, over-exfoliating is also possible.

At Defy Nature, they offer VI-Peel a medium medical grade peel   that is recomended  every 3 months for 3-4 months, In between, twice a week is the most you should use an over-the counter exfoliator. During winter months , limit it to once week so yu get too dry.

What about make-up remover wipes?

Makeup wipes have increased in popularity over the past few years (much thanks to their convenience) but not a good idea to make them a part of your daily ritual. Many makeup wipes include concentrated surfactants, emulsifiers, and preservatives which can be drying and irritating Those preservatives can also trigger irritation or even an allergic reaction. Instead use Replenix Purifying Antioxidant Foaming Cleanser  from Defy Nature that gently nourishes your skin.
